Born and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, I still consider myself a "Jersey Girl", even though I have not lived in the state for 25 years! I moved to Woodstock, IL in 1997 with my husband Keith and our three children and we are thrilled to call Woodstock home. I love to read and one of my favorite pastimes has been visiting bookstores. I feel truly blessed to have brought Read Between the Lynes to the Woodstock Square to share my love of literature with the community.
A retired teacher, Leslie un-retired after two weeks and joined the RBTL staff on opening day. Twelve years later, she’s still enjoying the customer contact…especially the kids, and the occasional dog. An avid and constant reader, Leslie can offer great book advice for any customer. And if you’re looking for a particular title, she’ll find it for you…whether we have it in stock or not. Leslie lives in Woodstock with her husband Larry. She brings him self-improvement books, but he says you can’t improve on perfection.
Born and raised in Illinois, I've lived the last seven years in Woodstock with my wife and two children. After working for many years for police departments, I decided to become a stay-at-home dad. I've always been an avid reader and writer and when I'm not taking care of the kids, reading, writing, working or working on my house, I enjoy biking and watching movies. While I love fantasy, I read a wide range of genre fiction or as I tell people, I tend to read books from the front half of the bookstore.
Born and raised in Woodstock, Rachel ventured to warmer climes for college. She graduated from Tulane University with an English degree, or as she likes to say, earned a very expensive piece of paper that says she likes to read. She particularly delights in escaping into books with a fantasy element, though she also enjoys the occasional foray into other genres—including acquiring a taste for non-fiction. When not reading, she can usually be found yelling about whichever sports team is currently playing.
Woodstockian through and through
Full of Girl Scout derring-do.
Who can strum loud and gaily
On her ukulele
And recommend poetry, too!
I'm a transplant who fell in love with a Woodstockian and his town, so much so that I both live and work on the Historic Woodstock Square. When I joined the team at RBTL my husband said I couldn't spend my entire paycheck on books, a tall order since two of my passions intersect here- books and supporting small, local businesses. I'm an avid reader, devouring novels from all genres, memoirs, and lots of non-fiction. Stop by- I'd love to talk books with you!
Born and raised in Woodstock, Illinois, I recently started school at McHenry County College. I am both a bookaholic as well as a chocoholic so naturally, Read Between the Lynes is my absolute favorite place to be! I enjoy delving into a good fantasy story, as well as any other fiction works. When I don't have my nose buried in a book, I am usually having Harry Potter movie marathons or discussing the outrageous drama of my favorite tv show, Downton Abbey.
As the youngest member of the famous Lynes family, I am proud to be back in my hometown of Woodstock, Illinois after living in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado. Although I am enthusiastic about fitness and nutrition, I am also a connoisseur of the goodies on the “food side” of our store, and always ready to recommend some candy or make you a delicious milkshake!
Born and raised in Woodstock, I’ve come to love this delightful town with all my heart. I’m a senior attending Woodstock High School and can’t wait to see what is in my future.I hope to attend college to earn a degree in Occupational Therapy and Spanish. I love getting lost in any wonderful world that books have to offer. If I’m not at school, work or sports I can be found snuggled up with a good book and a warm blanket.
When I was looking for a town to move to a couple of years ago, my requirements were a Starbucks and an independent bookstore. When I visited Woodstock and saw Read I Between the Lynes, I knew I'd found my new home. And now I've gone from a happy customer to a happy bookseller.
